Reviving a Historic Home

The house, built between 1870 and 1900, required a complete renovation. Having been uninhabited for several years, it no longer met current safety standards and lacked the amenities needed for a modern family. I took on the challenge of restoring this historic home, updating its infrastructure while preserving its original charm. Through careful planning and skilled craftsmanship, I transformed the house into a safe, functional, and beautiful living space, ready to meet the needs of today's families.

Setting Up & Context

At the age of 23 and with no practical experience in the craft, I embarked on the great adventure of renovating a historic home. With only my older brother to help with electrical installations and YouTube as my teacher for everything else, I dove into the project with determination and enthusiasm. This journey not only honed my skills but also fueled my passion for craftsmanship and home renovation.

The Challenge & Problem-Solving Process

We faced numerous obstacles along the way, often lacking the right tools or the proper working methods. Despite these challenges, our perseverance and the joy of seeing each task completed kept us motivated. We learned and adapted as we went, overcoming difficulties through determination and creative problem-solving. This experience not only strengthened our skills but also reinforced our commitment to seeing this life project through to the end.
